Frequently Asked Questions
We accept cash, check or credit/debit cards. ApplePay, Samsung Pay, GooglePay, Cash App as well. We will process your card payment on the spot using Square payment system. We do not store your card numbers.
Diagnosis is something that can only be done in person, and diagnosis is the first step in determining the price of a repair. There are far too many variables to be able to give an accurate diagnosis or price over the phone. We want to be sure we are giving you 100% accurate information and for this reason, it is our policy to only quote a price once one of our technicians has diagnosed your problem in person.
Sometimes our clients cannot be present during the repair. But we live in today’s high-tech world and in such cases we also offer our clients an invoicing service with online payment option so that payment can be made after the work is completed remotely. Our clients receive an invoice by email with detailed diagnostic results, calculation of the cost of work and photos Before/After, as well as a link for online payment in the message.
We don’t charge an hourly rate like a plumber or electrician. Instead, we use a national job rate guide which is a standard in the industry. It is called “The Original Blue Book Major Appliance Job Rate Guide — Online Version”. This allows us to quote you an exact price, up front, after diagnosis, before any work is performed.
The Online Blue Book is an extensive database of all the possible repairs that can be done on major appliances. It takes into account a variety of factors such as parts, time and labor, special equipment, predictable and unpredictable circumstances surrounding specific jobs, inventory management, education/training, office staff, advertising, insurances, travel time to and from the customers home and all service vehicle expenses.
We stand behind both the part and the labor with a full warranty (from 90 days up to one year, depending on the repair).
At HeyKey Appliance & HVAC Repair, we understand that some customers may want to save money by purchasing their own parts online. However, for quality, safety, and warranty reasons, we do not install customer-supplied parts—including those purchased from online retailers such as Amazon, eBay, or third-party sources.
Here’s why:
- No Warranty on Third-Party Parts: When we supply parts, they come directly from manufacturer-approved distributors, and we stand behind both the part and the labor with a full warranty (up to one year, depending on the repair). Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the condition, compatibility, or authenticity of parts purchased elsewhere.
- High Risk of Failure or Damage: We’ve encountered many cases where customer-supplied parts arrived damaged, counterfeit, or incorrect—even though they looked similar to the original part. Installing these parts could cause more damage to your appliance or HVAC system, costing you more in the long run.
- Safety and Liability: Many of the systems we service involve gas, electricity, or refrigerants. Improper or low-quality parts can pose serious safety risks, and we must adhere to professional standards to protect both your home and our technicians.
